•  OEM Copier Toner Cartridges - The OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) copy machine toner cartridges are usually manufactured by the company, which manufactures the printer. They come with the printers. These are also very expensive, though the manufacturers recommend the use of genuine copier toner cartridges for best results. However, there is not much qualitative difference between an OEM cartridge and a compatible or remanufactured copier or fax toner cartridge, but cost-wise the latter is much cheaper.

•  Compatible Copier Toner Cartridges - A generic company manufactures compatible copier toner cartridges. These are at par with the branded toner cartridges but much cheaper. Some original toner manufacturers also offer compatible copier toner cartridges for other brands.

•   Remanufactured Copier Toner Cartridges - Compatible copier toner cartridges may not always be available in the market. Therefore, you may have to buy remanufactured cartridges or recycled toner cartridges. Previously used cartridges are cleaned, refilled with new toner and tested at the factories.
